How to edit a scanned pdf documents

Have you ever wondered how you can edit text inside a scan to PDF file when the original file isn't obtainable? With Acrobat 9, you can use the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) feature to convert to PDF a scanned document into a searchable, editable, high-resolution PDF file. Then, you could use the Touch-up tool to edit your OCR PDF file.
How to edit a scanned PDF File
1. Launch Adobe Acrobat Skilled.
2.Open the scanned PDF copy with the document you need to edit.
3.Click on the "Document" drop-down menu, choose "OCR Text Recognition" and opt for "Recognize Text Employing OCR." This step allows the software to recognize the text inside the scanned document in order to permit for its editing.
4.Select the page or pages you want the system to scan for recognizable text utilizing the "Current page" or "From page" possibilities on the Recognize Text window.
5.Click "OK" when you are prepared to begin the text recognition course of action. Depending on the size of your document or the quantity of pages you selected, the course of action could take a minute or much more.
6.Click the "Tools" drop-down menu, choose "Advanced Editing" and pick "TouchUp Text Tool."
7.Using the cursor, highlight the portion on the text you intend to edit.
8.Sort the new text, or delete the existing text. The "TouchUp Text" tool will replace text but won't wrap and adjust any with the current text and text that you just add. It'll add text moving for the appropriate and off in the page.
9.Conserve the changes to your document, or save it as a brand new document for those who need to have to preserve the original scanned document.
If you need to have to edit a large portion of your text, select and copy all of the text inside the document after applying the OCR Text Recognition function. Paste it in to a word processing plan, for instance Microsoft Word, and edit the text. You may then print a new copy from the updated document to PDF.

Solution for IE9 can not download Adobe PDF files

IE9 is not downloading Adobe PDF files

Adobe Reader 10.1.4 was installed on my Windows 7 machine which uses IE9 as the default browser on August 17, 2012.

Since that time I have had a BIG problem downloading 20-25 Meg PDF files. I frequently get messages stating that network errors occurred, and I have to restart the download. If no network errors occur, then it takes about 20 minutes for a 20 Meg file to download. This is unacceptable because my measured download speed averages about 12 Mbps.

When I use Google Chrome to download the 20-25 Meg PDF files, it takes considerably less than one minute.

It boggles my mind that Adobe and Microsoft would release products that obviously don't work. I'm appealing to both of you to fix these problems just in case Google Chrome stops working too.

The last version of Adobe Reader that worked satisfactorily was 9.1.2

Adobe Reader 9.5 did not work either

PLEASE NOTE that using Internet Options/Advanced option and deselecting "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

Can you try following?

1.Open and run adobe reader first
2.Click on "Edit" on the toolbar.
3.Select "Preferences" at the bottom of the Edit list.
4.Select "Internet" in the list of features on the left-side of the Preferences window.
5.Uncheck "Display PDF in browser".

The next is a question about pdf viewer, could you solve this problem?

"It is strange that such a huge success as Google would not consider the implications of not conforming to a web standard for PDF open URL strings.
I use a huge amount of PDF's for my companies information on the web, and basically I have to tell our users to turn off Google Chrome's PDF viewer so that they can view the information in a suitable fashion. Otherwise the file opens in Full screen mode or zoomed to 135%, If they are going to reinvent the wheel, let's go ahead and make it ROUND!"

Adobe Has Updated Adobe Reader for Android

Maybe all of us had installed the desktop version of Adobe Reader. From Adobe we know that adobe has announced the android version. Now the free Adobe® Reader® X mobile app lets us easily view and work with PDF files on Android™ and iOS devices, including iPad and iPhone.

Adobe Reader for Android offers multi-touch gestures, like pinch-and-zoom, as well as double-tap-zoom, flick-scrolling and panning. We’ve also added a “reflow” mode, which will take text-heavy documents with wide margins, and automatically wrap the content for easy viewing on smaller screens.

System Requirements
Android v 2.1 and above
550 MHz processor
256 MB of RAM
4.3 MB of available disk space
Currently Supported Devices: Motorola Droid, Motorola Milestone & Google Nexus One (While we have not yet tested against other Android devices, we expect they may also run the application just fine.)

You can download Adobe reader for android here:http://www.adobe.com/products/reader-mobile.html

This is a good news for Android users, but I found that the Adobe Reader for Android does not have the Flash Player runtime. What's a pity.
